THE CHALLENGE
Property developer EcoWorld needed three maps to serve as local guides and attract potential buyers: a local guide, a wider London overview map and a masterplan. The source material consisted of complex, architectural documents that needed to be simplified into clear, playful visuals.
THE SOLUTION
In order to optimise the use of time, I developed, refined and vectorised my handwritten typeface. Each category of information (attractions, high streets, underground stations, etc) was assigned its own style anchored with visual hierarchy in mind. This worked as a starting point and allowed an easy and consistent creation of assets.
The visual system was supported by a minimal and cohesive palette, using red and blue as accent colours, as well as line icons that balance the overall composition of each map.
